The Betty Mitchell Colden Scholarship fund was established in 1993 in her honor. Betty served as MSU's Assistant Vice President for Government Affairs.

A lifelong educator, Betty encouraged many young people to set and achieve their educational goals.

Betty passed away on April 13, 1995, after a long battle with cancer, but her spirit lives on in all those lives she touched.
